Spotted Gum is the highest volume native Australian Hardwood harvested in Queensland. It's distinctive wavy grain which is resistant to splitting makes it useful for tool handles, structural work and flooring. This flowing golden grain with sections of fiddleback makes it a lovely timber for furniture makers. In colour often golden with tints of light reds and browns. With a dry weight of 1010kg/m^3 (12% moisture) is one of the heavier timbers.
